Hyatt Place Joins the Fight Against Human Trafficking

The team at Hyatt Place Columbus/OSU was really touched by the Anti-Human trafficking seminar they attended over the summer and decided to join the fight against human trafficking.

In reaching out to the Salvation Army Anti-Human Trafficking Outreach team, they informed the Hyatt Place team that one way to make a difference is to provide packages to help them out in the field and/or Guest House Care kits.  To produce the kits, Missy French started by reaching out to all the “Couponistas” at Columbus Hospitality Management to see if anyone had coupons for granola bars, packets of snack crackers, ramen noodle bowls, and feminine hygiene products.

With a set goal of 100 packages, the final contents for the kits were as follows:

Guest House Care Kits: Hyatt Place Joins the Fight Against Human Trafficking

– full size shampoo
– full size conditioner
-full size deodorant
-brush/combs
-toothbrush/full size toothpaste
-full size body wash
-loofah
-socks/slipper socks
-flip flops
-tampons/maxi pads

Street Outreach Care Kits:

-brown paper bags with handles
-travel size shampoo
-travel size conditioner
-travel size deodorant
-handful of maxi pads and/or tampons
– granola bar, crackers and/or ramen noodle cups
– juice box/bottle of water

Project Update

Thanks to Missy’s outreach and her team’s hard work, they were able to make around 130 bags for the Salvation Army Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition of Central Ohio and sent them with extra supplies to make more bags at a later time.

Michelle Hannan, Anti-Human Trafficking Program Director at the Salvation Army & main contact for Central Ohio Rescue and Restore Coalition (CORRC), also shared some great information with the team.  This included that their outreach program goes out every Monday night and gives away about 20 bags per night.

Thank you Missy & Hyatt Place Team!  Because of this donation, the Salvation Army will have enough bags for over 2 months!
